To create a correct HTML email sent by your code from Lotus Notes application can be a bit tricky if you are not familiar with MIME etc.
Using a JAVA language opens a large variety of possibilities for us in this area. One of these is using JODD (http://jodd.org)  multipurpose JAVA library that allows sending (and even reading emails from POP3 accounts) HTML emails in very elegant way.

The  following code snippets show, how to create a plain or HTML email or even combined:

To create a full featured email with plain text and HTML together with inline images and attachments  we just need such nice code snippet. Must to say here, that I really like API that is readable without any further documentation, as this one !!

The solution above allows you to create HTML email from your xPages applications or JAVA agents in very easy way and may become alternative to standard LN email creating style. To see all syntax sugars please visit documentation page here http://jodd.org/doc/email.html
